How to wrap and delegate Flare (FLR) tokens

This article describes how to wrap FLR and delegate WFLR tokens using the Oracle Delegator App.
 You can learn more about Oracle here. Check the Flare wallet page to learn more. 

Before you start

  • Ensure Ledger Live is running to the latest version.
  • Open Ledger Live and connect your Ledger device to My Ledger to ensure that your Ledger device is running the latest firmware version.
  • Ensure that the latest version of the Ethereum (ETH) app is installed on your Ledger device.
  • Once everything is up to date, close Ledger Live.

How to wrap FLR into WFLR

  1. Connect your Ledger, open the Ethereum (ETH) app on your device and enable blind signing.
  2. Connect your Ledger Flare account to MetaMask by following these steps.
  3. Go to https://app.flareoracle.io/flare/wrap.
  4. Click Connect wallet.
  5. Select your Ledger Flare account and click Next.

  6. Click Connect.
    Your Ledger Flare account appears.

  7. Select the amount of FLR  to wrap and click Wrap.
     It's strongly recommended to keep some unwrapped FLR to cover the transaction fees for delegating/undelegating/unwrapping WFLR later.

  8. Review the transaction and the fees. If all looks good click Confirm.

  9. Once again, review the transaction and fees on your Ledger device. If all looks good, select Accept and send.
  10. Press both buttons simultaneously to sign the transaction.

    You're done. Now you can navigate to the Delegate Claim section to see your WFLR balance in the app.

How to delegate WFLR

  1. Select Delegate Claim -> Add a delegation.

  2. Choose a delegate then click Delegate.
  3. Choose the amount to delegate then click Delegate.

  4. Review the transaction and the fees. If all looks good click Confirm.

  5. Review the transaction and the fee on your Ledger device. If all looks good, select Accept and send.
  6. Press both buttons simultaneously to sign the transaction.

    You're done. Your delegated WFLR amount appears in the app.

Add WFLR to MetaMask

 WFLR is not supported in Ledger Live yet. To see and manage your balance, you'll need to manually add it to MetaMask as a custom token.

  1. Open your Ledger Flare account in MetaMask and select Import tokens.
     Make sure you're connected to the Flare network.

  2. Fill in the contract address, the token symbol (WFLR) and the decimals (18) then click Add custom token.

  3. Click Import tokens.

    Your WFLR balance appears.
    You're done!
