How to refresh metadata with OpenSea and Rarible to view your NFTs

This tutorial explains how to refresh the metadata on NFT marketplaces such as OpenSea and Rarible.

NFTs on Ethereum

NFTs on Ethereum are using Ledger's own indexer and refreshing metadata on OpenSea or Rarible won't have any impact. If your Ethereum NFT is not showing in Ledger Live, please contact Ledger Support.

To learn about what metadata is and why it is important, check our Ledger Academy article.

Why do I need to refresh the metadata?

You can refresh the metadata of your Polygon NFTs in cases when you see your NFT in Ledger Live but the image is not appearing or is blurred (see the screenshot below).

Refresh metadata on OpenSea Refresh metadata on Rarible
  1. In Ledger Live, go to Accounts.
  2. Select the Polygon account where your NFTs are stored.
  3. Scroll down until you see the NFT section.
  4. Click See Gallery.
  5. Find the NFT whose image isn't displayed.
  6. Click the three dots next to it.
  7. Select Open in OpenSea.
OpenSea page in your browser opens.
  8. in the upper right corner of the page, click three buttons and select Refresh metadata.

That's it, you refreshed metadata and your NFT will display correctly in Ledger Live or OpenSea after some delay (at least 1h).
