Chainlink (LINK)

Chainlink (LINK) is an ERC20 token which means that you can manage, send, and receive it with your Ethereum (ETH) account in Ledger Live.

Before you start

If you already have an Ethereum account, you can view your LINK tokens in Ledger Live:

  1. Navigate to the Accounts tab.
  2. Find the Ethereum account where your LINK tokens are stored.
  3. Click Show tokens under the account.

Your LINK tokens will be displayed.

Receive LINK tokens

Please note: Chainlink (LINK) is an ERC20 Token. If you don't hold any LINK, you will not see the LINK Chainlink option under your ETH account. Since LINK is an ERC20 token, you don't need to have a separate LINK account. Instead, you can have an Ethereum (ETH) account that contains LINK.

  1. Navigate to the left sidebar menu and click Receive.
  2. In the drop-down list, under the Ethereum account, select Chainlink (LINK) and click Continue.
  3. Connect your Ledger device and unlock it.
  4. Open the Ethereum app on your Ledger device and press both buttons simultaneously to continue. You should see a message stating Application is ready.
  5. The address will be displayed on your device and in Ledger Live. Verify that the address shown on your device matches the address displayed in Ledger Live.
  6. If they match, approve the address on your device—press the right button on your device until you see Approve. Click both buttons simultaneously for approval.
  7. Copy the address and share it with the sender. The address shouldn’t change after you copy/paste it.
When sending your LINK tokens from an exchange such as Coinbase, Binance, or Kraken, be sure to select the Ethereum (ETH/ERC20) network. Choosing the correct network is crucial, as selecting a different one could result in your tokens being sent to the wrong account.
Send LINK tokens

You can send LINK from your Ethereum (ETH) account in Ledger Live.

Pro tip: Send a small amount first and verify that the transaction was received before sending larger amounts. If you’re unsure whether a transaction was successful, check back in a few minutes. Additionally, ensure you have enough ETH in the Ethereum account holding your LINK tokens to cover the transaction fees.

  1. In the left sidebar menu, go to Accounts and select Chainlink (LINK).
  2. Click Send.
  3. Enter the recipient address. Double-check the address and click Continue.

  1. Enter the amount you want to send.
  2. Select the amount of network fees and click Continue. Keep in mind that higher fees lead to faster transaction processing.
  3. Press both buttons simultaneously to Accept and send the transaction.
  4. Confirm and approve the transaction on your Ledger device—press both buttons simultaneously to Approve.
  5. Check the transaction summary—Amount, Network fees, and Total to debit—and click Continue.

The transaction is sent. Your account balance will be updated when the blockchain confirms the transaction.

Chainlink (LINK) staking

Chainlink Staking v0.2 was launched on December 11 for general access. It is an evolution of the Chainlink Economics 2.0 initiative which introduces an updated version of the staking API, transitioning from v0.1 to v0.2.

The launch and development of Chainlink Staking is a community-driven effort, organized by the Chainlink community, not by Ledger. For more comprehensive information about this update, you can visit the Chainlink blog at

  1. Open Ledger Live and ensure you have an Ethereum (ETH) account with LINK tokens. Also, ensure your account has enough ETH coins to cover transaction fees.

  2. Connect your Ledger device to your computer and open the Ethereum (ETH) app on your device. Wait for the 'Application is ready' message on your Ledger screen.

  3. Visit to access the Chainlink Staking portal.

  4. Click on 'Connect Wallet', agree to the Terms of Service, and select 'WalletConnect' followed by the 'Ledger' option. This step initializes the connection of your Ledger device to the staking portal via Ledger Live.

  5. In Ledger Live, select the Ethereum account containing your LINK tokens and click on 'Connect'.

  6. Return to the Chainlink Staking portal to either start the migration process from v0.1 to v0.2 or to begin staking through the v0.2 API with your Ledger device.
