Polygon (MATIC)

This article will help you create your first Polygon (MATIC) article with your Ledger and Ledger Live.

Polygon 2.0 POL token upgrade

The Polygon team has recently announced that the POL token upgrade is now live on the Ethereum network.

If your MATIC coins aren’t held on a crypto exchange, your ERC20 MATIC won’t automatically convert to POL within your Ledger account. Instead, this conversion must be executed manually through a transaction with your Ledger device. Please note that converting MATIC to POL is optional at this stage.

If you wish to convert, you can use Paraswap located in the Discover section in Ledger Live to swap MATIC for POL.

When using Paraswap, ensure that your MATIC tokens are held in your Ethereum (ETH) account and not in your Polygon account and follow the steps for the swap here: https://youtu.be/UtolyXJoMO8

Please note that it's not possible to convert MATIC for POL from a Polygon account yet.
