Ledger device enters “Booting” mode when it detects unexpected behavior on its USB port. As Ledger hardware wallets have security features built-in that protect them against hardware and software attacks.
This can happen with Ledger Nano S, Nano S Plus, and Nano X.
If you are facing the error “Booting x%”, follow these steps:
- Connect your Ledger device to a wall charger (ideally) or to any computer.
- Wait until the Booting percentage reaches 100%. It may take several hours.
Once the device has finished booting it gets reset:
- If you didn’t set up your device yet, follow the instructions for Nano S / Nano S Plus / Nano X to finish the setup process.
- If you already set up your device and it got reset, restore your device from the recovery phrase by following the instructions and then install all the apps back on the device.
