Ledger Live detected an address mismatch in the clipboard, what should I do?

Address switcher malware has the ability to hijack your computer clipboard and trick you into sending or receiving funds to the wrong crypto address (the attacker's address).

When suspicious clipboard activity is detected, Ledger Live will display the following warning:

When this happens, immediately check the destination address displayed on your Ledger device's screen.

If the address displayed on the screen is different from the intended destination address this could suggest malware activity on your computer.

I believe my computer is infected with malware, what should I do?

  • Don't panic, your Ledger device is designed to protect your crypto against malware attacks.
  • Immediately abort the transaction.
  • Consider your computer unsafe to use until the malware has been removed.
