Flare (FLR)

This article describe how to create your first Flare (FLR) account in Ledger Live. Check the Flare wallet to learn more. 

Before you start

  • Ledger Live is ready to use.
  • Update the firmware of your Ledger Nano SNano S Plus / Nano X.
  • Ensure that the latest version of the Ethereum (ETH) app is installed on your Ledger device.

Add a Flare account to Ledger Live

  1. Connect your Ledger device to your computer and unlock it.
  2. Open the Ethereum (ETH) app on your device and press both buttons simultaneously to open it. You should see a message stating Application is ready.
  3. Open Ledger Live. In the left sidebar menu, go to Accounts.
  4. Click Add account.
  5. Choose Flare (FLR) from the drop-down list.
  6. Click Continue.
    The account will be automatically added to Ledger Live.
  7.  Click Add account. You're done!


Receive Flare (FLR)
  1. In the left sidebar menu, click Receive.
  2. In the drop-down list, select FLR and click Continue.
  3. Connect your Ledger device to Ledger Live and unlock it.
  4. Open the Ethereum (ETH) app on your device and press both buttons simultaneously to open it. You should see a message stating Application is ready.
  5. The address will be displayed on your device and in Ledger Live.
  6. Verify that the address shown on your device matches the address displayed in Ledger Live.
  7. If they match, approve the address on your device—press the right button on your device until you see Approve.Click both buttons simultaneously for approval.
  8. Copy the address and share it with the sender. Ensure that the address does not change after you copy/paste it.
Send Flare (FLR)

You can send FLR from your account, using a Ledger device to verify and approve transactions.

  1. In the left sidebar menu, go to Send.
  2. From the dropdown menu, select FLR.
  3. Enter the recipient address. Double-check the address and click Continue.
  4. Enter the amount you want to send.
  5. Check the transaction summary—Amount, Network fees, and Total to debit—and click Continue.
  6. Confirm and approve the transaction on your Ledger device—press both buttons simultaneously to Approve. Press both buttons simultaneously to Accept and send the transaction.

The transaction is sent. Your account balance will be updated when the blockchain confirms the transaction.
