Bluetooth pairing reset by recent firmware updates
- If you update your Nano X firmware from a version below 2.0.0 to a version above 2.0.0, the Bluetooth pairing between your device and the Ledger Live mobile app will reset.
- After completing the update, please make sure to restart your Ledger Nano X then re-pair your Ledger device by following the troubleshooting guide below.
- Don’t worry, this doesn’t have any effect on your crypto assets.
If you are experiencing issues connecting to Ledger Live mobile after you have enabled Bluetooth on your Ledger Nano X, you can follow the instructions below to solve this issue.
Before you begin
- Make sure you are using the latest Ledger Live Mobile version available.
- Ensure your Ledger device runs the latest firmware version.
Troubleshooting
If you are facing pairing issues or your Ledger Nano X can not be found by your smartphone, follow the instructions below based on your operating system (OS).
- Turn on and unlock your Ledger Nano X.
- Hold both buttons to access the Control Center.
- Navigate to the Settings and press both buttons.
- Press the right button then press both buttons to access the Security menu.
- Press both buttons to validate Reset pairings.
- Confirm Reset pairings once more and enter your PIN code.
- Make sure location services are enabled in your phone settings for Ledger Live.
Ledger Live never uses your location information, this is a requirement for Bluetooth on Android. - Clear the Bluetooth cache on your smartphone by following the instructions in this article.
- Turn on your Ledger Nano X and make sure Bluetooth is enabled.
- Open Ledger Live and start the pairing.
- Tap on the Ledger Nano X once it's available in Ledger Live. It may take a few moments for a pairing code to be displayed on both devices.
- If the codes are the same, confirm the pairing on your smartphone. Press both buttons on your Ledger Nano X to confirm the pairing.
- Press both buttons to Allow My Ledger The pairing is complete after the authenticity of your Ledger Nano X has been checked by Ledger's secure server.
- In Select your device, select your Ledger Nano X.
- Turn on and unlock your Ledger Nano X.
- Hold both buttons to access the Control Center.
- Navigate to the Settings and press both buttons.
- Press the right button then press both buttons to access the Security menu.
- Press both buttons to validate Reset pairings.
- Confirm Reset pairings once more and enter your PIN code.
- Open Ledger Live on your smartphone.
- Go to Wallet.
- Click on the ellipsis (three dots) next to your Ledger Nano X and tap the red button Remove device.
- Open the Settings of your iPhone.
- Select Bluetooth.
- Search for your Ledger Nano X and tap on it.
- Tap Forget this device.
- Turn on your Ledger Nano X and make sure Bluetooth is enabled.
- Open Ledger Live and start the pairing.
- Tap on the Ledger Nano X once it's available in Ledger Live mobile.
It may take some time for a pairing code to be displayed on both devices. - If the codes are the same, confirm the pairing on your smartphone. Press both buttons on your Ledger Nano X to confirm the pairing.
- Press both buttons to Allow My Ledger. The pairing is complete after the authenticity of your Ledger Nano X has been checked by Ledger's secure server.
- In Select your device, select your Ledger Nano X.
You should now be able to successfully access My Ledger.
- Turn on and unlock your Ledger Nano X.
- Hold both buttons to access the Control Center.
- Navigate to Settings and press both buttons simultaneously.
- Press the right button and then press both buttons to access the Security menu.
- Press both buttons to confirm Reset pairings.
- Confirm Reset pairings once more and enter your PIN code.
- Open Ledger Live on your phone.
- In the bottom right corner, navigate to My Ledger.
- Click on the ellipsis next to your Ledger Nano X and tap Remove device.
- Long press the power button. Three options will appear: power off, restart, and flight mode.
- Select Restart.
- Confirm that you want to continue by clicking Restart again. Your phone will turn on and off sequentially. Once your phone has been turned on again, it’s time to change the default Bluetooth version.
- After you reboot your phone, navigate to Settings.
- In Settings, scroll and select System.
- Tap About Phone. Scroll down to see the Build number. Tap it 6-8 times to enable the Developer option.
- Navigate back from the About Phone section. You should see the Developer option.
- Scroll down and select the Bluetooth AVRCP version.
- A pop-up menu will appear and display several versions, including:
- AVRCP version 1.4
- AVRCP version 1.3
- AVRCP version 1.5
- AVRCP version 1.6
7. Select AVRCP 1.5 version.
- In the menu, tap Settings.
- Tap Connected devices.
- Scroll down and tap Bluetooth. A list of connected devices will appear.
- Select Settings.
- Tap Forget.
- Turn on your Ledger Nano X and make sure that Bluetooth is enabled.
- Open Ledger Live and start the pairing.
- Tap Ledger Nano X once it's available in Ledger Live. That may take some time.
- Both your Ledger device and Ledger Live should show codes. If the codes match, confirm the pairing on your phone. Press both buttons on your Ledger Nano X to confirm the pairing.
- Press both buttons to Allow My Ledger. The pairing is complete after the authenticity of your Ledger Nano X has been checked by Ledger's secure server.
- Navigate to Select your device and tap Ledger Nano X to connect.
