This tutorial describes how to create an Injective Network (INJ) account with your Ledger device and Injective Hub.
Currently, it is not possible to create an Injective (INJ) account within Ledger Live. This action requires connecting your Ledger to a third-party application (Injective Hub).
Before you start
- Ensure the latest version of the Ethereum (ETH) app is installed.
- Ensure blind signing is enabled on Ethereum (ETH) app.
Connect your Ledger device to Injective Hub
- Navigate to https://hub.injective.network/.
- Ensure your Ledger device is connected, and the ETH app is open.
- Click on the Connect button located at the top right corner.
- Select Connect using a hardware wallet.
- Select the default option Ledger Live when the derivation path pop-up appears, then select Get addresses.
A drop-down with your Ledger Live ETH address will appear. - Ensure the address matching your Ledger Live ETH account is selected, then click Connect.
Once connected to the Injective Hub, a newly created INJ address will appear in the top right corner. Now you can send ERC-20 INJ to your Ledger Live ETH address. - Select the drop-down menu in the top right corner to find your addresses.
Bridge and Stake on the Injective chain
To stake on the Injective Chain, you must bridge your ERC-20 INJ tokens to receive native INJ tokens.
- Navigate to the Bridge tab located in the left panel of the Hub. Then, select INJ as the asset from the provided drop-down list.
- Select from Ethereum to INJ and choose an amount to bridge.
- Click on the Set Allowance button.
- Confirm the transaction on your device.
- Click on the Transfer Now button.
- Click Confirm.
The step Transaction in Progress will appear and may take approximately 5 minutes for your balances to be updated on the Injective Chain once the transaction has been confirmed on the Ethereum network.
Delegating INJ
Stake your INJ tokens by delegating them to a validator.
- Select the staking tab in the left panel of the Hub.
- Select Delegate Now on a validator of your choice.
Note: It is possible to delegate to more than one validator. For example, you have the option to delegate 50% of your holdings to Validator A and the remaining 50% to Validator B. - Specify the amount of INJ to stake and click Delegate.
- Confirm the transaction on your device.
- Return to the INJ wallet page to view delegations and claim rewards.
It’s possible to re-delegate your stake to another validator. By doing so, you will continue earning rewards* instead of unbonding. If you choose to unbond your tokens, you will stop receiving rewards, and your original INJ balance will be returned to you after the 21-day unbonding period.
*Rewards are not guaranteed. Ledger does not provide any financial advice or recommendation.
