This article describes how to create your first COTI account with your Ledger device and the COTI Viper wallet.

Before you start

All set? Great, let’s dive in.

Install the COTI app on your Ledger device

  1. Connect your Ledger device and unlock it.
  2. In the Ledger Live app, navigate to My Ledger.
  3. Confirm that you allow My Ledger to access your device. You can do that by clicking both buttons on your device simultaneously.
  4. Go back to Ledger Live. In My Ledger, head over to App catalog and search for COTI.
  5. Click Install.

The COTI app is installed on your Ledger device.

Connect your Ledger device to COTI Viper Wallet

  1. Go to and click Open a COTI Viper Wallet to sign up for a COTI account.

  2. Once verified, go to and log into your COTI account.

  3. On your Ledger device, navigate to the COTI app and press both buttons simultaneously to open the app.
Your Ledger should display the words: Coti Application is ready.
  4. Click Connect with.

  5. Click the green Connect button at the center of your screen. Then, select your Ledger device and press the blue Connect button to initiate the connection.

  6. On the dashboard, navigate to the Addresses tab then click Generate address.

  7. Navigate to Send/Receive > Receive and click the Copy address button.

This address can be used to send COTI to your Ledger account via the Trustchain network, or to bridge ERC20 COTI tokens from the Ethereum network to the Trustchain network.

Bridging ERC20 COTI from Ethereum to Trustchain

  1. Go to
  2. Choose Ethereum (ERC-20) as the source network and Trustchain (CMD) as the destination network. Then, paste the address you generated earlier with the COTI Viper Wallet into the Receiving Address field, select the amount of COTI coins to bridge and click on Get Address.

  3. A unique Ethereum (0x...) deposit address will be generated just for you. To bridge your ERC20 COTI tokens to your Ledger COTI account on the Trustchain network, simply send them to this address using the Ethereum network.

Once the transaction is confirmed by the bridge, your COTI balance will appear in your Ledger wallet.

 Important note

  • As the bridge is operated by a third-party, we recommend conducting a small test transaction initially if this is your first time bridging funds. Confirm that your funds are correctly bridged before transferring the remaining balance.
  • Please ensure that you only bridge ERC20 COTI tokens.
  • If you're transferring tokens from an exchange to the bridge, make sure to select the Ethereum (ETH) network. Choosing the wrong network could lead to a permanent loss of funds.
